Project One:

The method of analysis you will be asked to perform is logistic regression.  The data set needs to have a dependent variable that is YES/NO and at least two independent variables that are qualitative or quantitative.

Once you find a data set that you are interested in you need to get the approval of the instructor.  Some good web sites for finding data sets follow:

The analyses that you should run are:

  • run the logistic regression with all of your variables included in the model.
  • select the most significant variables for a final model.

Finally, you should write a report that includes a Title, an Introduction that describes where you got your data and what variables are involved, an Analysis section that describes and presents the relevant descriptive statistics, correlations, plots, and results of the regression analysis, and finally a Conclusions section summarizes you findings.

SAS IML Examples:

Assignment 7

  • See Stat 3910 assignments.

Due 2/29/2000: Current assignments listed on the 3910 assignments.

Assignment 8

Due 3/9/2000

Second Project for Stat 4910:  Read the introductory sections for the chapter you have been assigned and write a brief summary of the method you are working with.  If you want to try to work on your data before Tuesday please send me an e-mail and I will send you the data.frame.
