Random variables, sampling distributions (binomial, Poisson, normal, exponential), conditional probability. Estimation, hypothesis testing. Computer-aided computations. Topics include: t-tests, correlation, regression; proportions, chi-squared; ANOVA. Prerequisite: MATH 1305. 

6304 Advanced Statistical Inference (4)
Random variables, sampling distributions, conditional probability. Expectation. Estimation, method of moments, maximum likelihood. Confidence intervals. Hypothesis testing. Computer-aided computations and simulations. Topics include: t-tests, correlation, regression, proportions, chi-squared, ANOVA, nonparametrics, bootstrapping. Prerequisite: MATH 1305 or admission to graduate program.
