• Many of the examples in the book relate to home values.  Some current companies that collect and analyze data are HouseValues.com, Zillow.com, and Zaio.com  Review these two website and answer the following questions:
  • What are the difference between the types of data used by these companies?
  • What are the main differences between these companies in their approaches to the appraisal (valuation) of homes?
  • What other companies are there that do this type of valuation?
  • Are these companies using Multiple Linear Regression in their appraisal calculations?
  • Are these companies using Seasonal Adjustments in their appraisal calculations?
• Read the paper Myths of Murder and Multiple Regression and write a summary of the main points of the article.
